Hike Devils Fork State Park followed by a Pot Luck Lunch

I have tried this before and it is alot of fun. We will meet at Devils Fork State Park and do the easy 3 mile hike and then go to "Coop's" place to have a heavy lunch / feast. What to bring will be coordinated later depending on the number of member's interested and available to do this adventure. Devils Fork State Park trail head is by the picnic area, left entrance as you turn into the left entrance turn right towards the pavillion / parking lot. There is a $2.00 fee to use the park. The pay fee box is at the right entrance to the boat ramp by the office. Pay the fee and then drive back to the left entrance to the trail head. Directions to the park is via HWY 11 south if coming from Pickens or Greenville area. Take Lake Jocassee Road off Highway 11. It will be a right hand turn if traveling south on HWY 11. It is well marked on HYW 11 but the road goes to the west. After the hike we will do a caravan to "Coop's" place which is only 4 miles away. "Coop" will be leading this hike. Dogs are welcome but must have good social skills and behave while hiking. Dog leash is required. Cell phone and main line phone numbers will be provided later the week of the hike in event you have to change your RSVP on the day of the hike or if you are going to be late. It will be a fun time and we should work up an appetite for the heavy lunch.

Great small gathering and hike on this Meetup. Wonderful to get outdoors with people of similar interests in this beautiful neck of the woods that we call home . Pot Luck was also much fun even though "Executive Privilege" seemed to have its limits. Lookin forward to nest time.

This get together was great as usual. Weather was really pleasant today and we had an invigorating hike. Good company, nice steady pace, beautiful scenery; those that didn't join in missed a good day!

The 2.0 mile hike was very enjoyable. Small friendly group. We chatted the entire way and had a great time. The Pot Luck was also very fun and everyone made a contribution even those who had Executive Privileges. The vension burgers, baked beans, potato salad were all delicious. Jake and Bailey were happy, everyone had a great time. Will have to do it again.
