2 Bridge Walk in Boynton Beach

Another new walk. We will start at the Wendy's at the corner of Woolbright and N Federal Highway in Boynton Beach (It's in the shopping center with the Winn-Dixie , on the SouthEast corner), cross the Woolbright Bridge and walk East to Old Ocean Boulevard, travelling North until that road intersects with A1A, continue North on A1A to the Ocean Avenue Bridge, cross over the bridge going West (admiring the view of the Intercoastal and the Woolbright Bridge), then turning around and crossing the bridge again going East, there are a few side streets with picturesque homes to admire, then upon our return to the Parking Lot, we have the opportunity to eat at Prime Catch and get 20% off. There are are a sushi restaurant, Thai and Wendy's in the Plaza if that is more to your liking.

I made this walk a few minutes earlier because will need the extra time to make it 4 miles and be light enough by the time we finish our walk.

It's very close to the beach, a windbreaker is recommended, I have bug spray if needed, bring a flashlight if you like.

I apologize for those having to travel farther for this walk, I hope the new sights and dinner venue make up for the inconvenience, and we will go back to the Spanish River Athletic Facility next week.

Thank you and I hope to see you Thursday!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments and for attending. My apologies if our walk was a bit longer than our usual 4 miles. If we do the same walk again, which I think we should, I will talk to Marcos about cutting out the first side street on the return route so it will be a bit shorter. Yesterday, for those of you who are interested, according to my NIKE walk program, we walked 4.85 miles at a pace of approximately of 16'54'' for a total time of around 1.5 hours. At my body weight (which will continue to remain a secret), I burned 408 calories during the walk which I immediately replaced with two frozen drinks and appetizers following the walk. It was great conversation and great fun! Good to see everyone and hope to see you next Thurs. on another walk with Marcos back as the leader. It was super to have such great attendance and to have so many new people join the regular Thursday crew. Marcos and Sibyl we missed you!

Sue, for those of us in the group who like a longer walk, you and Marcos might also think about a 6 mile version of this hike down more side streets.

Good walk and company. I really enjoyed checking out all the prime real estate along the way.

So sorry for the last min cancellation but I am rapidly developing one of my very rare but really bad cluster headaches. I only get a couple a year but really can't function when I have one.

I can't make it tonight due to work, Sue has graciously accepted the role of troop leader this evening, thank you!

Doug, I talked to the General Manager last night and she said Neal of Silent Storm would be playing sax until 10 but she did not think the whole band.

This promises to be a terrific walk along a less traveled ocean road in Ocean Ridge. Then, afterwards, for anyone who wants to join us, Marcos and I have reserved outside seating along the intracoastal waterway at 8:00 for appetizers and/or drinks and dinner at Prime Catch which is offering 20% off the entire check in honor of their 10th Year Anniversary. For those of you who are fans of Silent Storm, Neal, the sax player is also suppose to be there.

Sue, do you mean Neal is playing?

The Thai restaurant is "Rice", very good food and service, 10% off when you pay cash.
