INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING! :) We just did this on MLK day and had an amazing response/time! It was wonderful to meet new friends and hang out with the old ones…so let’s do it again!
It will be on Presidents' Day (February 17, 2014)! This is a Monday evening, which means the special is Buy One, Get One Free! :) Hurray! Shoes, harness, and chalk bag cost $7 to rent, and the day pass is $18 (actually $9 with the BOGO :)), so less than $20 (7+9=$16)!
I have confirmed the CORRECT class for that Monday ;). It is called the Belay Certification Class. So for those who have never rock climbed and/or want to learn how to belay, they have a learner’s orientation/ climbing/belaying session, which is great. You will be both climbing and belaying for each other, in addition to learning the knots and terminology. To learn/become certified, it costs $35 per participant for 2 hours (7:30-9:30pm) and guarantees your safety and peace of mind while you are learning, and includes your equipment too. Let me know if this is you (don’t be scared/shy, you’ll love it...I'm especially thinking for those who want to jump all in this time.(The more belayers we have, the more we can have everyone climbing! :))
When you climb, you always have the climber and the person on the ground supporting you (aka belaying). Going in a group is nice, because you not only have more fun, but you always have plenty of chances to climb. We will start at 7pm. If you want to arrive before that with a friend, you are more than welcome, but you’ll find that your arms get worn out fast! The climbing area closes at 10pm, so that will be plenty of time to enjoy! [And if we find we are quite hungry afterward, there is also a great diner nearby (called Stateline diner), which we can hit…]
Sign up early, so we can know numbers, and if we want to figure out carpooling later, that’s a possibility! Blessings and enjoy your President's Day! :)
