Bill Cunningham interviewed Dr. Georgia Purdom, who is a scientist at the Creation Museum. She got her Ph.D. in molecular genetics at The Ohio State University, which is the same university where I got my Ph.D. She says she is a legitimate scientist.

It was a shame the weather didn't cooperate. I'm glad I braved the elements and came out.

It took me about 2 hours to get home in Hamilton. I decided to get off at Paddock Road. Wyoming and Springdale did a good job at plowing.

Does anyone have the web site for streaming?

    February 2

  • Debbie B

I hate to miss this, but I'm going to opt to stay home and watch the live stream on my computer. I do not particularly like ice.

  • Lisa M.

Is anyone else concerned about the weather?

    2 · February 4

    • Dena S.

I am concerned but since I just live on the other side of the river I'm going to TRY to make it.

      February 4

    • Jeff

I just cancelled my RSVP, since I live on the north side of Cincinnati, up by Tri-County mall, and that's a kind of long drive. Plus, Cincinnati just doesn't have as good of a snow and ice removal road crew system as areas like Cleveland, as far as I can tell, and Cinci drivers are not as good on ice and snow as NEO drivers, so all that together, I think I'll stay home. :(

I'd like to watch the interview, but can't stomach supporting Creationism with even one more YouTube view. If someone figures out how to do that, please post here.

    700WLW called me.
They LOVED the interview with Mr. Kagin!

I have another one set up for 4:05pm today.

wish I could make it. I live in Florence and was appalled that the Creation museum was going to be built. I cannot believe how many young minds are going to be misled.

  • Tony

Please take time to listen to 700wlw around 9:05. Host Scott Sloan will be interviewing our own Mr. Edwin Kegan about the debate, the Tri-State Freethinkers event, and discuss the Creation Mausoleum and its fallacies.

This is an amusement park, not a mausoleum.

If this is followed, It looks like he may not make our event.

Atheist people need something to protect your forehead when you attend this event. Your palm will hit your forehead many times when you heard what Ken Ham said. I love you all!

Debbie bring food. Not a problem.

    January 28

  • Tony

I also was hesitant to give Hamm any if my money. My wife reminded me of a conversation with Mr. Keagan with regard to stepping behind enemy lines to find out what you are up against. I feel much better aboutofering Hamm one payment from a room full of like minded friends whom will then share ideas on how to best combat lunacy.

    1 · January 26

    • micalj

I agree speaking with Ken Ham is like going behind ENEMA lines ! We will hear a bunch of s**t

      January 28

  • Debbie B

Are attendees allowed to bring food? Meaning can I swing by a drive through after work if I don't have time to stop and eat, and bring the food with me to the event?

    January 27

    • Dan D.

I would like to know this as well. Regulars know they do have a restaurant onsite. But what will be the food policy be for the debate?

      January 27

    • Jim G H.

They do have an onsite restaurant which I would recommend people use. Having that said I don't think it will be an issue since we are not providing food for this event.

At first I was dead set against having anything to do with this "event". First, the CM was selling tickets, the live stream, the downloads and the dvd and claiming they were paying Nye expenses. It appeared to be nothing more than a publicity stunt for the CM with Ham laughing all the way to the bank. But now Ham is making the live stream available and unlimited. Wonder why the change in strategy? Anyway, I'm now seeing it through the lens of my two teenage children and their friends and they are pretty stoked up to see their celebrity science teacher challenging the creationist model. I agree that scientists shouldn't waste their time addressing this nonsense, but we also need to cultivate an interest in science among our youth. Maybe grabbing media attention anyway we can will help.

    January 26

  • Dan D.

The Creation Museum (CM) is advertising that an "estimated" 600,000 people are tuning in for the debate.
I assume CM is creatively estimating this if you sign up for live stream (which I did before the TSF event was announced.)
When you sign up to watch the debate the options are for "just me", groups of 0-100,[masked], etc.... So, if you sign up with a group of 2 people to watch, CM is probably counting that as 100. If you sign up with 101 people to watch, CM is probably counting that as 500.
What a fraud, and typical Creation Museum exaggeration.... but then again what else would we expect.

    1 · January 26

    • Dan D.

from the CM e-mail I received: "Thank you for preparing to show this outreach event to your church, group, or organization!
Our staff is personally excited and thankful that you are planning to be a part of this historic debate between Bill Nye and Ken Ham on Tuesday, February 4. We already have registrations for an estimated 650,000 people attending in groups to watch the event."

      January 26

  • micalj

Jim is the only food for this meeting Ham on Nye?

    1 · January 25

  • Ed H.

I would also recommend that you invite Rabbi Robert Barr and his congregation Beth Adam. These are secular Jews in Cincinnati. Barr has spoken against the Creation Museum on multiple times, including in two recent podcasts.
