Backpacking Basics

Things to consider when planning a trip for a day or a decade

Whenever we are getting ready for a trek into the back country packing our packs is not only the most important thing we can do before we hit the trail but it's generally the last thing we do before bustling out the door. This will review some key considerations to making sure you know how to pick what goes in your pack and on your person. When we decide to go trekking, we opt to leave most creature comforts behind but that doesn't mean that every minute of our explorations need to be arduous. This workshop will go over how to decide what to wear, how to pack, what to eat and how to enjoy even the most adverse of conditions that you may face out there. (picking, sizing and packing your pack, protecting your feet, cooking food, setting up camp, preserving your surroundings)

I have some experience in Mid Westerns Indian(Asia) mountain ranges. I never faced cold temperatures there as we have in Ohio. So I want to learn how to do it right for cold environments.
