Christmas in July WEEKEND Camping/Kayaking July 16-18

Come out this weekend (July 16-18) to celebrate Christmas in July at Stonelick State Park. I have worked several months on organizing this event for the Tri-State Kayakers. So bring your Christmas in July spirit this weekend. After JUNE 13, 2010, this event is a RENT YOUR OWN SITE. To reserve a site visit the Ohio State Parks Stonelick Campground website. If you want to share a site with someone please take that discussion to the Message Board. DO NOT use this meetup event site for that. The original 14 members will be on sites 98, 99 and 100. For the 14 Members that ORIGINALLY signed up BEFORE June 13th, you can click on the link below to see some pictures of the campsites that I have reserved so you know what to expect.
http://www.meetup.com...

If anyone has some of the Air Blown Inflatable Yard Decorations, that would be WONDERFUL to decorate our campsites.

Friday will be spent setting up camp, walking through the campground singing Christmas Caroles, and sitting around the campfire. On Saturday, Stonelick has their annual Christmas Parade at approx 10:00 AM. We will be having OUR FIRST EVER Kayak Flotilla Parade on Saturday @ 1:00 PM. What does this mean? Well we will be decorating OUR KAYAKS with Christmas Decorations and paddling on Stonelick Lake. I have been working with Stonelick State Park for several weeks and we are going to be a part of the Campgrounds Events for the weekend's festivities. Be sure to wear your favorite Christmas Hat. I did this in Fort Myers in December with their group. Check out the pics for some ideas http://www.meetup.com... After we are done with that, the next few hours are to kick back and relax. There are some trails to hike if anyone wants to do that.

For dinner tonight, please bring an appetizer or dish to share with the group. After dinner we will be chillin around the campfire and have a "White Elephant" gift exchange for the Adults. Please bring a gift that costs between $7.00 - $10.00. A gift that has something to do with Kayaking, Camping, or Hiking would be appreciated. WEEKEND SUMMARY

Here is the linkl for the campground. Also has the number for the campground, which I guess handles the canoe rentals. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Portals/2/parkmaps/Stonelickcampmap.pdf

And for the park in general. http://www.ohiodnr.com/parks/tabid/789/Default.aspx

Canoes are cool, too. You can rent one from the park for $5.33 for the first hour and $4.25 for each additional hour. They will also rent for the day at $26.63. Not sure if they take reservations. Perhaps those without kayaks can split the cost with another. Also I understand Whitewater Whse in Dayton rents kayaks. Give them a call at[masked]-7020. I understand you can rent over a number of days, but you will have to arrange your own transport. Just some suggestions.

Well Bill...... Today is YOUR LUCKY DAY. I sent out an e-mail and also posted a discussion on May 8th giving EVERYONE the OPTION to pay by CHECK or PAYPAL. Since it sounds like you are so disappointed in not having that option now, I am going to give you the chance to pay by CHECK or CASH. E-mail me and I will give you the address to send your $15.00. A spot is NOW saved for you. See you on July 16th for Christmas In July. Merry Christmas In July!
