Gunpowder Creek

We will launch from the Marina's ramp and paddle the backwaters of the creek and decide when to head back and go past the ramp where we launched to the mouth of the Ohio River. The river is very beautiful there. We can paddle along the shore and decide as a group when we will return to the ramp. Anyone wanting to stay at the ramp and load may do so.

This paddle is suitable for beginners.

There is a parking fee of $5. I am going to try to negotiate a lesser fee but I am sure that will depend on how many people RSVP.

What To Bring – PFD / sun hat / warm or cold weather clothing / water / lunch or snacks (if eating on the water / sun screen.

Restrooms – At the Marina

Weather Forecast – Hoping the weather will be like Indian Summer.  Of course any turn in the weather will be an update or cancel.

Post-Paddle Sustenance – After we load and head back, the plan is to turn right on Ryle Rd. just before Big Bone State Park and head to

If you have never been to Jane's you are in for a real treat.  Those that are not joining us to paddle please feel free to meet us there around 2-2:30.  The restaurant is great! All fresh homeade desserts.  They are open until 5:00 and hopefully will have their Sunday jam session still going on.

Liability Waiver – As always, by joining in this event you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to abide by the Tri-State Kaykers liability waiver. You can find this waiver in the Files section of the Tri-State Kayakers web site

Any questions please post on message board and if running late please let us know we hope to be on the water by10:45.  My recommendation for those not familiar with the area is to take the Union, Ky. exit #180 Rt 42.  I think Rt 42 is the easiest vs. other map directions I have seen.  Beavercreek Rd.Is off of Rt 42 and the Marina is a few miles on the left past Big Bone.
