HIKE - Mt. Tammany, Delaware Water Gap Nat. Rec. Area, NJ

Meet: EVENT LEADER PAT HORSCH at 9:30 AM Delaware Water Gap Dunnfield Creek / A.T. Parking Lot. Due to reduced parking available, recommend carpooling and/or arriving early. Contact leader for more info. A moderate to strenuous climb at a leisurely pace up the Tammany Trail to enjoy the spectacular view from Mt. Tammany overlooking the Delaware River. We stop there for a snack and photo op, then descend on the Blue Trail to a scenic waterfall. At the waterfall there will be an option for an early out back to the parking area, or to extend the hike along Dunnfield Creek, up the Holly Springs Trail, and back to the parking area via the AT. Approx. 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Boots highly recommended. Bring snacks and plenty of water. Steady rain cancels.  Check this meet up site on the morning of May 31 for any changes/cancellations.

PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY AS WE LEAVE AT 9:30.

Directions: GPS Coordinates: N 40° 58.30' W 75° 07.55'
I-80 West towards PA. After Exit 4, watch for the brown sign on I-80 for Dunnfield Creek and
Appalachian Trail Parking 1 Mile. Exit at the Delaware Water Gap Info sign shortly before Exit 1. Pass
the first lot on the right and go to the second lot
on the right for Dunnfield Creek / AT Parking. If you miss the exit, take Exit 1, make a left under I-80, go past the info center and go back under the interstate towards I-80W. Turn left toward I-80 but exit at the parking lot on your right.

    Most of the TriState Ramblers club members are not on meetup and some will also be attending beyond the 8 meetup members. Since there is a shortage of parking spaces for this location we decided to put a limit on attendees.
