Garden & Food Forest Dig-in Port Coquitlam!

The Tri-City Transitions Women's Center is a very visionary project. In spring of 2012, participants from the Chance to Choose youth employment program planted an herb and vegetable garden, and a small area to become a future forest garden. The produce from the garden has been donated to the women's shelter and also herbs have been used for the youth employment programs fundraising dinner.

On June 4th from 10:00am - 2:00pm will be a community dig-in to celebrate the project and also expand it.

It would be wonderful to have local permaculture people, gardeners and community builders come out and meet one another.

I got there early, weeded for 1.5 hours and left. Didn't see any other Permies. Good to see lots of people helping out - even if most of them didn't seem to know much about gardening.

So sad I couldn't make it! Last minute learning opportunity, and I had to grab it. I love work parties :)

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
