This will be the first in a monthly series of tastings at The Flying Saucer. This month we will be tasting 8 beers - 4 Belgian ales and 4 Belgian-style ales. We will sample 3-4 oz of each. There will be an assortment of meats and cheeses to accompany your beer. All for the price of $15. Furthermore, we will have one special beer to taste for an extra $5 if you are interested. The option is yours. This tasting will be educational, but also informal and fun. With each round of beers, we will give you a little info about the beers and style, from there you can enjoy your beer and feel free to wander around and socialize. Here is the beer lineup:

Tripel
Westmalle Tripel vs. Unibroue La Fin Du Monde

Strong Pale Ale
St. Bernardus Grotten Flemish Ale vs. Brooklyn Local 1

Strong Dark Ale
Trappistes Rochefort 8 vs. Allagash Odyssey

Quad
Urthel Samaranth vs. Ommegang Three Philosophers

Bonus Beer ($5 extra)
Malheur Brut Noir - A Biere Brut somewhat similar to champagne.

****NOTE****
Please keep in mind that Belgian ales and Belgian-style ales tend to be very high in alcohol. If you plan on driving, consider a designated driver or using a service like Zingo. You can call them at 1-877-NO-DUI-NC. A link to their website is on the right hand side of the page.

Steve, do we have a tally on the winners of the Belgian on Belgian votes?

Yes. We will start at 6:30. You can go at your own pace. There will be servers bringing you each round as you order it. I would recommend you taste each round after we give a few points about the style and beers we are drinking, but it's up to you. I want things to be casual.

So this does start at 6:30? Can you go at your own pace, or do they bring them to you as you ask for your pour?

Well organized and promoted by Tri-Beer. Great deal offered by the Flying Saucer for the group and good, attentive service as well. The beers were an excellent selection.
    •  Great selection of beers to try. The event was well run and the venue was perfect. Great job to Steve and Amit for their organization. This was my first event and it will certainly not be my last. Looking forward to future events.
    •  Had a great time last night. Everything went really well. Especially for our first time doing a tasting like this. Everyone was enjoying themselves and having the room to ourselves was great. Beers were excellent. I'll have info up soon about next month's tasting.
    •  Good mix of nerds and novices. I look forward to future events.
    •  Great beer, great company, can't beat it
    •  Awesome meetup! Excellent Belgium beer selection. Fantastic service by Flying Saucer. I really enjoyed talking with members in our own reserved space. I look forward to the next one.
