March: Hadoop as a Data Hub: A Case Study

  • Mar 19, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Reproducing your relational models in Hadoop often lends itself to questions of data integrity and quality by the end user. Join Datameer as we share lessons learned by some of our customers on how to overcome the challenges of the old approach of a centralized data warehouse.

In this session, we will demonstrate a new way of thinking about how data should be made available to end users.

We will show the benefits of:

  • Hadoop functioning as a centralized data hub.
  • A No ETL approach to data schemas.
  • Denormalizing data and providing users access to raw data in a format that maps to how they think.

About the speaker:

Adam Gugliciello, a 15-year veteran in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture specializes in highly available, parallel systems. Most recently he has been developing grid computing solutions to enable deep analyses and intelligence gathering on huge software systems for technical debt and functional mapping. Adam is a Solution Engineer at Datameer and helps bring Financial and Telco applications expertise to the utilization of the Datameer business intelligence suite.
