Data SIG: Micro-ORMs - lightweight .NET alternatives for managing your data.

Q: What's the plan for this meeting?
A: First we'll briefly define what an ORM (Object Relational Mapper) is and subsequently a micro-ORM. We'll look at why we might use micro-ORMs as well as what advantages/disadvantages they have over the traditional ORMs already out there (Microsoft's Entity Framework, Linq2Sql, NHibernate, etc.)
Next we'll actually dive into some code and look at some of these micro-ORM solutions in action - Simple.Data, Dapper, Massive, FluentData, and Peta Poco. We probably won't be able to get through all of them, but the idea here is to gain a general awareness of what options are out there.
