Dev Craftsmanship sig: jumpstarting new projects - All

This is the first of a series of sessions that will help developers grease the skids for developing small personal projects (or demos for presentations) very quickly.

We'll try to build a simple but sound architecture that can be reused to build a basic website quickly.

To get the ball rolling, here’s a few things we're likely to cover:
- setting up git hub
- determining target audience (desktop, web, tablet, phones)(proprietary vs. html5/css3)
- determining framework (mvc, web forms,win8, etc )
- choosing a template in VS
- what extra addins/utilities (bootstrap, knockout, handlebars vs jsRender,jsViews,jsObservable, jquery Templates, jquery, backbone, datatables vs. jqgrid, etc)

Is it okay for new people to attend? I'm a beginner programmer and a new member to this group.

Jennifer, thanks for the reply. ive talked my wife into driving up there.

I saw in the meetup description that they are going to be talking about setting up github. I was wondering if they were going to talk about TFS and visualstudio.com now that it's free.
