Main: Cloud Explosion

It's been 3 years since Microsoft first introduced Windows Azure, a cloud computing platform. In the time since, there have been a dizzying number of changes and improvements. From storage options to applications, there are different offerings that suit different needs. From free websites using a CRM like Wordpress, DotNetNuke, or Drupal, to complete Virtual Machine management, we'll look at the many ways to approach building cloud based solutions. Windows Azure has many application building blocks, making it straightforward and simple to build connected applications leveraging a cloud backend. This presentation will cover all the basics to give you the complete picture of the current state of Microsoft's cloud platform.

Brian Hitney is a Developer Evangelist with Microsoft Corporation focused on cloud computing. He frequently delivers presentations and works with local community groups and customers on emerging technologies, .NET, and developer tools. Prior to his Developer Evangelist role, Brian worked as a software engineer on a Windows team in Redmond, and before he joined Microsoft he helped build large scale e-commerce applications for various companies across the United States. Brian is based out of Greensboro, NC.
