Lovely performances by all. Especially Ms Garanca. Love Mozart's music.

My first time seeing a production of this work.. Most of the singing was first rate, especially that of Elina Garaca (pronounced gah-RAHN-chah) and Barbara Frittoli. John Pierre Ponnelle's lush production of ancient Rome is set in the Mozart's 18th century. Unexpected turnout, if a bit scattered among theaters!

Elina Garanca posseses both beauty and and a rich mezzosoprano voice. We saw her as Carmen with Robert Alagna a couple of years ago. We'll be seeing her as Seymour in Anna Bolena in the next few months.
