Now in its fourth year, Triangle Opera Appreciation is a small, intimate group of down-to-earth, gay-friendly people who love opera and enjoy experiencing it together. We warmly welcome newbies as well as long-time opera lovers. We watch recorded performances in members' homes, live broadcasts in stadium movie theaters, and socialize over food and drink. We also schedule Meetups for on-stage performances when available.

Active participation is a requirement to retain membership: attend at least one event every other month or so and keep RSVPs up-to-date. Inactive individuals are encouraged to withdraw.

We depend on members' donations to meet expenses. The social periods are as important to this group as the operas we enjoy.

Events in private venues are held on Sunday afternoons in North Raleigh, and sometimes elsewhere.  In general we meet every two to three weeks. DVD's are shown on a 48" large-screen Blu-ray entertainment systems with surround sound. Refreshments include soft drinks, wine, cheeses and fruit.
