Roadtrip: RailHawks at Atlanta

Who wants to brave I-85 and cheer on our RailHawks away?

They've changed the arrangement of their park so now the "100" side is general admission and we've negotiated a deal for $11 seats there. That means we'll probably not tailgate quite as long so we can grab a nice front row position.

The Lady Silverbacks play at 4:30pm with our boys kicking off at 7:30pm.  Meetup in the parking lot early to tailgate.

Just learned that Enzo Martinez returns to RSL after this game! He won't be around to face his brother on Tuesday when we play the Dynamo at home.

My family is staying at the Hyatt Place Gwinnett Mall. A little further out (but on the way in and out), but a very nice business hotel for 80 bucks a night prepaid. I don't recall ATL charging parking last year but I may be mistaken.

The official hotel of the Silverbacks is the Holiday Inn Perimeter. We can get a rate of $94. Includes a full buffet breakfast and a shuttle to/from stadium (saves $$ on parking and DUI attorney fees ;o). I've got the contact name. I didn't think it was too expensive for a one nighter

I've reserved 20 tickets for us. They'll be waiting at will call when the gates open at 3pm. Some folks are planning to get there for the 4:30pm Lady Silverbacks match. I'll probably be hanging out in the parking lot eating Crystal burgers.

When do you need a final headcount on tix?

I'll be giving the Silverbacks our headcount momentarily and buying twenty tickets. If you need a few more, I don't think it'll be a problem if we buy them at the gate. I doubt they'll sell out.

I may need a few extra tickets for friends & family. When do you need to have a firm headcount for the $11 tix?

Send me any information on where we will stay

I like the Red Roof Inn in Norcross. It's simple and cheap and just a few exits away from Silverbacks Park. Read down a little in these comments and you'll see other hotel recommendations.

Bart is coordinating on Tickets - we'll hear soon enough I'm sure - For Tailgate, our past plans have been that we gather at the Atlanta park with our gear and beer and food and have a good time!

For the record: Stayed at the Hampton Inn Atlanta-Northlake (3400 Northlake Parkway Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30345 - [masked]). It was decent and not horribly expensive. It's just down the road from the Silverbacks armpit and close to a grocery store to get ice and beer before the game for our tailgate. Other suggestions???

The Hampton Inn in Norcross, GA is still about $58 a night for friday and saturday night... a couple of us stayed there for the first road trip and it was decent... also close to a grocery store.... about 15 minutes from the stadium
