The US Department of Labor estimates that by 2020 there will be 1.4 million jobs in computer science, but there will be only one-third the number of qualified computer science graduates needed to fill them. Programming will be a critical skill in the 21st century and beyond. Even if your child has no interest in becoming a computer programmer, learning how modern technologies work and how to control them will be valuable. Computer programming also teaches essential critical thinking skills. Want to help equip your child with useful skills? Let them see how much fun they can have learning in the company of other kids!
