Let's end the killing of cats.

The rate of killing has dropped rapidly with increasing spay/neuter of owned cats.  If one percent of the population adopted a cat and we continue TNR for feral cats,, the killing would end.

We as cat lovers can affect policies individually and through organisations if we work together for adoption, education, sterilisation, and collaboration.

There is so much great new information about caring for homeless and free-roaming cats. Both individuals and institutions can help save more cats, whose needs and circumstances are so different from dogs.  Please view this brief video from Maddie's Fund for an overview.

Let's use our discussion board and get together to share ideas and strategies for helping existing rescues and shelters. We can identify areas of particular need for education and spay/neuter services and potential adoption venues.  And we can help folks in surrounding areas work out TNR, spay/neuter services, and adoption promotions.

There are websites already for posting adoptable animals, fundraising, medical expenses, transports, etc. so let's keep this one for proposing and documenting effective practices and policies.
