Cheryl, I do several times a year by myself and sometimes with a friend at The Oaks, or at another place on Clemmonsville Rd. in W-S. I give little bags of personal care products, visit, pray, read the bible to the residents. Some freely ask for prayer or for me to read to them, but they all appreciate the bags and a visit. I have had the honor and joy to lead a two in salvation prayers. If you would like to go sometime together let me know.

Meg, you are absolutely right. I am so thankful to be a part of this group. I'm impressed with the spiritual depth of everyone in this group. I visited SEVERAL churches in the Triad area when I first moved here. Sadly, there isn't an abundance of genuine spiritual maturity out there. This group and TCBC is where I found the depth I needed and wanted to be a part of. This group is so service oriented, which is an outward expression of genuine faith, according to the book of James. Does anyone visit these centers beyond singing, just to sit with and talk to some of the residents? A few of my friends in Cary visit a nursing home there on a regular basis just to sit and talk with the residents, share Scripture, and pray with them. One of the men I began talking to had a LOT to say and really seemed to enjoy our visit. It's an honor to serve with you all.

Thanks Rick, Matt, Gary and Amanda for organizing this event, it was a real blessing! A couple things I noticed was how good Amanda is with talking with the patients, Marty must have a face that says "I'm a good listener" because a I saw a couple patients initiate conversations with him, you guys can really sing!, several patients were singing along including one woman who never really opened her eyes so you maybe couldn't tell that she was participating, and lastly it was very touching how everyone was trying their best to reach out to the patients. One thing I really like about Triad Singles is that is not just about having fun social time, but also includes some ministry opportunities.

Thank you Gary and Mat for organizing another service event here at this center. And also thanks to Amanda and Rick for planning the music and leading us to praise God. It was great to see more of the residents in the common areas minister to them. God worked in the hearts there as well as mine. It was good to meet a couple of new folks in the group also. I was sorry that I could not join you later, but God had other plans which included a sweet time with Him.

Thanks so much Matt for organizing and Rick for leading in music. All who helped from printing music/lyric sheets, drivers in the carpool, to friendship bread. =) It was such an honor to show and share Jesus' love to very precious people who at the very least need encouragement. Thank you.
