QUAIL-put marbles, etc. in water dish to keep them from drowning. Hardly any in the countryside now. We used to hunt them all winter when I was a kid-wild quail=5 star eating.

I currently have 30 Ducks, 60 Guineas, 15 Chickens/Roosters, 1 pair of breading pheasants. I have considered quail as well, so I would be interested in seeing some setups.

I like the idea! Used to have chickens and a duck, but not allowed in Cary. :(. I have cared for quail, however and enjoy their eggs. Would like to consider them as they ( theoretically) could be brought indoors and perhaps be a loophole in the Cary NO POULTRY RULE. What kind of quail do you have?

I am also starting to explore this as I love quail and quail eggs. Learning about how much room they need so I can verify feasibility.

So far, they are pretty easy. The hardest part is keeping the chicks alive...they are so tiny that they can drown in their water dish!
