Looking forward to meeting other readers and writers in the area. I'm originally from North Carolina and moved back to the Tar Heel state a few years ago after 22 years in Virginia.

What's your history with the classics so far?

In college I changed my major to English because I enjoyed reading the classics more than textbooks. I still have many favorites from among American and English classics and remember many scenes and lines from them. There are many more of the classics I still want to read, and I would enjoy discussing them with others.

How much time do you have for reading or meetups?

Not as much as I'd like! Trying to be selective, and the reading selections for this group look especially interesting.

Is there anything a school or college teacher made you swear you'd never read again?

I can't think of any books (other than some I had to read when I was earning a Master of Divinity a few years ago), but there were several short stories I wished I'd never read, even though they're classics.

Is there anything you've been meaning to read but haven't quite got around to?

There are a lot of the classics I want to read - so many that I haven't thought about prioritizing them, but some may show up in the reading list for this group.
