Learn from Mark Imbriaco's DevOps Wisdom

Mark Imbriaco has agreed to speak on LivingSocial's current work and plans around the new Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) that they are building. He'll be giving some of the how and why and a preview of what it's going to look like. Even if your company doesn't have a need to build it's own system like this, you're sure to pick up some nuggets of information that will help you use the cloud better.

Mark Imbriaco is currently the Vice President of Technical Operations at Living Social. In his past he's been Director of Cloud Operations at Heroku and Operations Manager at 37signals. Mark has been at the forefront of DevOps and he's more than happy to impart his wisdom from hard won lessons.

When will this be: July 18th, at 7pm.

Where will this be held: at WebAssign, on NC State's Centennial Campus, in Raleigh NC

I hope to see great turnout.

Mark's talk was great, as was the audience participation and discussions afterwards.

Helpful to get my brain wrapped around DevOps and the problems solved in that space. Thanks for hosting.

I liked the open forum and discussion topics. One or two slides to describe the architecture would have been helpful.

No food at the event, as it isn't required that hosts provide food. Any time there is food I will make it very clear in the announcement there is. I will be eating at Baja Burrito in the Mission Valley Shopping center before hand and others are welcome to join me, but that is not the event, so please eat where ever you would like.

There was some talk of going to Baja Burrito before the meetup.
