Hometown: Atlanta, DC, and a little bit of Jersey.
February 22, 2010
My husband and I are new to the area from New England. We distribute solar area lights, and are in the midst of design plans for an intentional community on our old farm in Chatham County.
The homes in our community are to be as low impact as possible. Our solar business is a good start - but that's commercial and not wholly applicable. Plus, solar's cool - and so are the people interested in it, generally!
We live in a home heated with geothermal heat. I hate compact flourescent bulbs, but make up for that transgression by railing against improperly designed passive solar and using the sun whenever we can. Composting toilets and greywater systems, too.
Passive solar, water tower use to more efficiently use well water, composting systems for multi family villages.
Any is fine - we work out of the house.
Hi Whitney! Rando from Meetup HQ here. Just checking in to see if you've received my e-mail and to again congratulate you on starting the Red Pepper Farm and Village in Silk Hope Meetup Group! I hope you're finding everything ok. Check out http://www.meetup.com/help/ which is a great resource for organizers. Best wishes!
I look forward to meeting you when we get settled. We're not officially moving until March 20th.
Welcome to Pittsboro! I've got two 13 month olds. Let me know if you ever want to get together.
Welcome, Whitney! Thanks for joining the group! We'll work on scheduling some free-form/informal get togethers... Are there are specific meetup venues, etc. that you would like? Thanks and hope to meet you soon!
Hi Whitney! Looking forward to meeting you. Sara talks to highly about everyone in your playgroup. I can't wait to be a part of it. Sometimes it's nice to meet others in PBO, but do things outside PBO:)
so you and your husband are lots of fun, and your kids are JUST GREAT!!! It was great meeting you yesterday! HOpe you make it out to more playdates!
Nice meeting ya'll tonight!
