Where Web Meets Native, Building Mobile Hybrid Apps Using JavaScript

  • Jun 11, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • IBM

Carlos Santana, Senior Software Engineer at IBM, is going to cover some pretty cool things:

- creating cli tools using js/node/npm for hybrid developers
- from web to native app in less 5 minutes
- how to debug and author hybrid apps
- how javascript can access native functions (i.e. Cordova plugins)

We'll be at IBM's campus in building 500, room G104. Follow the signs for the B500 / Software Group Lobby after entering campus. That will take you to the visitor lot "Q". From there you can enter through the main lobby.

A big thanks to IBM for hosting this.

IBM has a strict policy around public wifi, so if you want wifi access at tonight's meetup, please fill out this form by 4:00 pm.

Good seeing everyone last night! Really enjoyed Carlos's demo/presentation. As mentioned, The Select Group has recently taken on a project to staff 15-20 permanent JavaScript developers. If you didn't get a chance to speak with me last night and are interested, please forward your contact information along to [masked]. Thanks!

I've worked on both native and phonegap implementations for the past couple years. I was VERY impressed with the depth of knowledge and detail Carlos provided. AWESOME!!!

Well-delivered and well-catered. Targeted a pretty broad audience and brought out good commentary from more experienced cordova developers.
