Let's eat some great Turkish food and socialize...and maybe even learn about the fascinating Turkish language along the way!

I've got a table reserved for us — look for the Meetup sign. Hope to see you there!

We dined on some fine Turkish food and got to play with the puzzle pieces of the Turkish language. The wait staff and even the Turkish customers all chimed in and gave us pointers. Great atmosphere—simply fantastic! Thanks to all who came. See you next time!

Man, I am super bummed. I hve been learning Turkish for almost 2 years now, and wanted to speak Romanian with Diana. I thought I had the means to come tonight, but then at the last minute there was a wrench in the plans! Hope everyone had fun.

I'm with Bryan - "Not a Tuesday!" Sorry, I'm committed to taking my son to soccer practice. Then again, I may be able to swing by for a 1/2 hour. Bosphorus is a great restaurant that some Turkish friends took us to for a real treat.

As I'm an "'Election Official" (hi-falutin' moniker for poll worker), will have to set up my precinct the nite before the * Oct. election. Will try to access the time frame in order to find out. Have thought of 2 restaurants which we must (or, at least, "should,0" try.

In order to see if Amharic (NOT Aramaic) has any relation to the Semitic-Hamitic languages --whic some of the latest lijngusistic resaearch to the Indo-European family

      Yes- Amharic is Semitic!

I do suggest a gathering at "Troy" Turkish Restaurant in the belly of downtown Raleigh. Turkish food has a much moere elaborate use of spices than does Greek. Check out "Lost Nomads" to learn when that Balkan band plays. Also, would love to eat Abyssinian food w/a group. Maybe we could pick someone's brains RE any relationship betw. Amharic & Semitic languages.

I might be unavailabel on the night of 7 Oct. (Have to set up a precinct.)
