Introduction

I have many interests in this area.

What is your native language? (It's okay to put down more than one!)

English, French, German

What language(s) are you interested in?

Evolution of language, ambiguity, translation, and metaphor are a few interesting topics.

What do you hope to get out of this meetup group?

Hi, Randy! Thank you for joining our group! I hope to see you at our first meetup; it sounds like we would have a lot to talk about.

Hi there. Just wondering if you are the same Randy Lundberg who runs the Socrates Cafe, which I always get emails about, but, somehow, have yet to try. I am just curious, especially as one of the reasons I never went was that I felt a little shy about attending a group where I didn't know a soul... Thanks!

The Raleigh-Durham German Language Meetup Group

Hi Randy, My husband & I are moving to Cary this weekend & I'm so happy to find out there's a German Language meetup group in the area. I took 4 years of German in college and graduated in 2005 (I didn't go back to college until my 3 kids finished their education, so I was a non-traditional college student:). Anyway, I don't want to lose my use of the language & am hoping to find a conversation partner in the area. I plan on attending the meetup scheduled for April 20th at the Gourmet Factory.

Hi, Randy, looking at the picture and seeing Harry and myself in there makes me realize how much I miss you all! As nice at is here in the state of WA, we do miss our friendships we made at the meetups in Raleigh. When we have the time, we attend meetings in Seattle, but the traffic here is crazy and parking in Seattle is expensive! My advise: cherrish what you got!

    Hi, Randy.
We had 6 members (including myself) meet this eve at Barnes and Nobles in Cary for conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned quiet a bit from the other members!
I liked the idea of making it a regualr meeting, but my work schedule is too sporadic to commit to a routine date. We did talk about meeting again on July 5th, Monday morning 9AM at Barnes and Noble in Cary, NC. Several people had expressed a desire to meet during the day. Is it possible to post it? Thanks!

Hi Randy, Unfortunately I am unable to meet-up tomorrow night, May 20th. I was not sure how to "un-RSVP". Hope you all have a fun evening.

    Hi Randy,
    Schoene Gruesse,
    Tom
