Introduction

I was a hair away from a double-major in Philosophy (my other major was sophistry - Advertising - ha ha). My advertising career was fleeting. This group seems like a great way to stay connected with something I really love.

How did you become interested in philosophy?

I took a political and social philosophy course (Hobbes, Locke, et. al.) and was hooked. Existentialism most strikes my fancy.

Can you summarize your philosophical outlook in 50 words or less?

I'm a "scanner" by nature (INTJ personality), so I prefer a unified field theory that compares various philosophies. Any argument starts from premises and proceeds by logic, so I recognize ideas as tools of emotion/love/intent, for better or worse.

What topics interest you the most?

I'm so fickle. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Not so much. At what point do some sand grains become a "heap"? Count me in! Big picture - social, political, ethics.
