In continuing with making the Big Cheese a little less big, I am going to start doing some Sunday evening strolls down our lovely 150+ miles of Greenways here in the Triangle. These "Sundays with Dean" will be an easy pace, so we can enjoy nature and have nice conversations without having to gasp for breath.
The next walk will be at The Museum of Art off of Blue Ridge Road. The Museum Park consists of 164 acres of woodlands, open areas and streams filled with trails and monumental works of environmental art. The combination of an important art museum and a large natural area offers a rare opportunity to explore art and ecology together.
We will be walking down the Museum Trail, the Prairie Trail and the Woodland Trail. We won't do each trail entirely, just walk the outer loop that includes each trail.
Park in the lowest parking area to the left of the museum.
- Wear comfortable walking clothes
- Wear appropriate footwear
- Bring water or workout beverage so you don't get dehydrated
This is a casual walk, so please don't have something scheduled for 8 pm on Sunday that you'll have to rush back to.
I am open for suggestions for other Greenway walks, but keep in mind that they should have a definite starting point with ample parking.
