If people are bothered by the volume of mail they always have the option of changing their mail settings for the group to digest so they will only receive one email from the group regardless of the number of messages sent out that day. ?They also have the option of not receiving mailing list messages, they will still receive all other messages such as messages from the organizers of the meetup or event messages. ?I see a?lengthy, appropriate, and on topic discussion as a good thing!
To change your mail settings: go to "Account" (top right), Membership & Communication (left bar, "Edit email settings", under the "Mailing List" section select "In one daily email"

Dear Chinese Meetup Group,
I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm on this topic; however, I have received complaints about the lengthiness of the 'redneck' discussion.? From this point on, please copy directly the person to whom you are speaking, not the entire group.? Thank you, we appreciate your cooperation.
Please Note: If you hit "REPLY", your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list ([address removed])
