Dear Friends,
When we heard the shocking bad news in China, we all felt the need to pray for the victims and their families. Just as Jesus taught us, we show our compassion through our actions.

CBC will hold a memorial worship service for the earthquake victims and their families Sunday at 11am on June 1, 2008 in our chapel. We will continue to take up special offerings for the victims and their families. This Sunday's special earthquake fund of $2,423 will be given to the Qiang people near Wenchun county; the epicenter through the "Minorities for Christ International" led by Reverend John Chiang. They have a supporting team of local Christian missionaries to help the local victims. They also are planning a three-year long-term recovery project to live with the Qiang people and directly aid them. We have friends who are in the health profession and they have gone to the crisis area even now, as I write this letter, to give the families there direct aid. We also have many other true and direct avenues for giving the much-needed financial aid.

Psalm 112 encouraged all of us Christians to give, especially during tough time like this:
All goes well for those who are generous...,
Such people will not be overcome by evil circumstances...,
They do not fear bad news: they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.
They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly,
They give generously to those in need.
Their good deeds will never be forgotten.

At the memorial service we will pray for all the families who have relatives or friends affected by this disastrous earthquake. If you know of anyone by name, we will pray for each person as given to us. If you feel led to give financially, you can write a check to CBC and note on the bottom "for the earthquake victims and their families." We will make sure all the money goes to the needy directly. If you cannot attend the memorial service and would like to give to the earthquake fund, you can write to CBC and put a note on the bottom for ?earthquake relief fund.? CBC will continue to receive and distribute this fund to local groups and families in the disaster area.

May God bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and give you peace,
