Announcing a new Meetup for The Triangle Area Chinese Language Meetup Group!

What: First Night - New Years Eve Celebration.

Meetup Description: Many have asked if there will be anything going on with our group for the New Years Eve celebration.
Sue, Cynthia and I are going to be at the First Night Raleigh Celebration in downtown Raleigh. You can meet us at 8:00 PM at the corner of Davie Street and the Fayetteville Street Mall.

There will be many events going on that night and vendors will be set up all along the entire downtown area.
Be sure to bring cash. ATM's are available at the local downtown banks. There will be trams that will circle the entire downtown area.

The cost to attend is $9.00 in advance and$12.00 if you pay the night of the event.


The schedule for the celebration:
Children's Celebration along the Bicentennial Plaza and at the North Carolina Museums of History and Natural Sciences, north of the State Capitol. 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

The People's Procession leads thousands around the Capitol and down Fayetteville Street to the Main Stage (located on Fayetteville Street at Davie Street) for the Early Countdown, Acorn Drop. 6:00 PM
Early Fireworks show 7:00 PM

Evening performances will take place in two-dozen downtown venues including the state museums, various churches and buildings surrounding the Capitol, along Fayetteville Street, and at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Join 80's power pop band, The Smithereens, on the Main Stage for the Countdown to Midnight beginning at 10:30! Festivities conclude at Midnight with the Raleigh Acorn Drop and Fireworks. 7:00 PM to Midnight

First Night Raleigh 2009 admission buttons are on sale for $9 beginning December 1 at the following Greater Raleigh and Central North Carolina area retailers.
