Sue,
Although a gas pot is preferable, more controllable heat, at home we use an
electric hot plate, which works fine. We'll bring it as long as they provide
the 1 cooking sauce. One pot should share fine with 4.
I kind of had a feeling that China Town wasn't as well equipped to handle as
was The Gourmet Kingdom in Chapel Hill because Amy and I went there for lunch
one day, requested it, and were told that they weren't set-up for it...in
which case we proceeded to The Gourmet Kingdom, which was wonderful.
Anyway, we'll make do, right?

Sue,
I just called China Town, not about the discount, we've been very excited
about going, I thought the discount would be the extra bonus for bringing in
a lot of customers, like we always did, that's all. Couple of my
friends called today and they wanted to go as well... The restaurant said
they do have plenty of seats, the problem is they don't have enough pots, so
the owner said if we could bring our own pot (either electric or propane)
they can seat us no problem. Just an idea to throw out there, maybe we could
try to find some pots among us. A lot of Chinese family do have hot pots.
Tom, they do have the mandarin pot (1/2 spicy, 1/2 not spicy) - ! For the
spicy half, you can choose to have either 1 Ma La (which is my
favorite too) or just the chili peppers.
Look forward to seeing you all there...also, any vegetarians out there?

Are the
hot pots going to be the separated kind, the kind that has 1/2 spicy? I
only ask because Amy and I love Sichaun and Hunan-style hot pot, preferably
Ma-La.

Sue,
May we could look for China Town coupons in China Star...I have one coupon
in print, it says "10% off for party over 10 Adult Buffet, Cannot
combine with other offers. Monday to Saturday available", I am not sure
if that qualifies for the hotpot but I will bring it and try it out anyway.
Last time we were there we had about 30 people and the owner was willing to
give out 10% for a large group through negotiation, maybe we could try
calling them again?
Also, I found the raffle tickets today, so we can have a lucky draw...I am
working on the prizes now. If anyone has any gift that is related to
Chinese New Year and you want to contribute to the group, please email me
at [address removed].

Hi all,
Looks like our hotpot event is very popular. Please honor your reservation
if you RSVP "yes", it's very important for this event, we still
have many people interest in joining us for this adventure. We have max out
all the hot pot capacity they have, they don't take walk in guest for hot
pot this Saturday night.
Correction: We will NOT have 10% discount this time, they changed policy
few weeks ago. If this affect your decision, please change your reservation
accordingly.
Again the price is $11.95/pot, 4 person share a pot, comes with
vegetables(limited amount), rice noodles and white rice if you desire. meat
is $3.99/plate, they have pork, chicken, lamb, beef to choose from. Drinks
are charged separately.
People share the same pot responsible to the bill of their own pot. You can
either pick your "pot partner" before hand or be seated randomly
with our members.
Look forward to seeing you all this Saturday!
