Call & Response Mantra-Chanting w/ live original music

You're invited to a spiritual healing & Bhaktiyoga mantra-medicine kirtan-chant concert.  Celebrating Swami Vivekananda's 150th birthday. (*See bio below.) This is a pre-Dharma & Yoga Festival event dedicated to the pursuit of Universal Peace through Dharma (Spiritual Law) & Yoga (Union with Source.)

Hope you can join us for a blissful co-creative journey into the Heart of the One Universal Spirit.

Celebrate the Source of All Existence through the ancient Bhaktiyoga tradition of call & response mantra chanting.

Experience the bliss, spirit-medicine & community of our soul-stirring vocals, original tunes & timeless high-vibration mantras (or Divine Names) from the ancient Himalayas & the Sanatana Dharma (or Eternal Law.)

Kirtan (or the repetition of the Divine Names) is a wholesome natural energy healing which reduces stress & opens one's heart to the joy, beauty & sacredness of Life.

Kirtan is not entertainment or a show, but a participatory spiritual practice, meditation & musical prayer which quiets our mind, enchants our heart & unveils deep blissful connections to our core Spirit / Source / True Self.

$15 - $20 Suggested Love Donation. Kids free.

*Swami Vivekananda (Bengali: [ʃami bibekanɒnɖo>Shāmi Bibekānondo; 12 January 1863 – 4 July 1902), born Narendra Nath Datta (Bengali: [nɔrend̪ro nat̪ʰ d̪ɔt̪t̪o] Norendro Nath Dot-to), was an Indian Hindu monk and chief disciple of the 19th-century saint Ramakrishna. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world and is credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century. He was a major force in the revival of Hinduism in India, and contributed to the concept of nationalism in colonial India. Vivekananda founded the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission. He is perhaps best known for his inspiring speech which began, "Sisters and brothers of America ...," in which he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1893.

Born into an aristocratic Bengali family of Calcutta, Vivekananda was inclined towards spirituality. He was influenced by his guru, Ramakrishna, from whom he learned that all living beings were an embodiment of the divine self; therefore, service to God could be rendered by service to humankind. After Ramakrishna's death, Vivekananda toured the Indian subcontinent extensively and acquired firsthand knowledge of the conditions prevailing in British India. He later travelled to the United States, representing India at the 1893 Parliament of World Religions. Vivekananda conducted hundreds of public and private lectures and classes, disseminating tenets of Hindu philosophy in the United States, England and Europe. In India, Vivekananda is regarded as a patriotic saint and his birthday is celebrated as National Youth Day.

Quotes:

"Love is the strongest medicine... From repeating the Divine Names, everything will be brought to fulfillment... Constant repetition of the Divine Names with or without pious feelings, even in anger or lethargy brings Grace in the form of Bliss."

~  Sri Neem Karoli Baba

"Thankfulness brings you to the place where the Beloved lives."  ~  Rumi

"I slept and dreamt that life was joy.  I awoke and saw that life was service.  I acted and behold, service was joy."   ~  Rabindranath Tagore

"Behold, the kingdom of God is within you."  ~  Jesus Christ  (Luke 17:21)

"Through repeating the Beloved's Name the body becomes Divine."  ~  Tukaram

"In the kaliyuga [the current age of spiritual darkness] the best way is Bhaktiyoga, the path of devotion ~ singing the praises of the Lord, and prayer. The path of devotion alone is the religion for this age.  Blessed you are indeed that you chant the name of Hari and sing the Divine Mother's glories  ...the path of devotion is prescribed for this cycle. This is an easy path. You will attain God if you sing His name and glories and pray to Him with a longing heart. There is not the least doubt about it." ~ Sri Ramakrishna

"The spiritual journey is individual, highly personal.  It can’t be organized or regulated. It isn’t true that everyone should follow one path.  Listen to your own truth." ~  Ram Dass

"By repeating the Divine Names your true nature becomes revealed. Therefore do it all the time, whether you feel like it or not."  ~  Sri Anandamayi Ma

"A burden which is well borne becomes Light."  ~  Ovid

"All the powers in the universe are already ours.  It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark." ~ Swami Vivekananda

"Group chanting & prayer is very powerful & can change anything."  ~  Amma

"We're all just walking each other home."  ~  Ram Dass
