America's Cup is coming to SF! Come watch the races and enjoy a picnic/BBQ with friends.

http://www.americascup.com/

There is free parking at this park, with the fanatic backdrop scenery of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marina waterfront. If you enjoy food, the outdoors and fun people to chill with, then please do try to attend!

Menu: Tri-tip, Hamburgers, Veggie Burgers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Grilled Vegetables, Fruit, Soda

There is $12 event fee. Please pay via this meetup page at http://www.meetup.com/singleprofessionals/events/76674782/

The fee is waived for event hosts and organizers who want to help out with cooking or setup for the event. We have to limit the number of attendees to ensure we have enough food/drinks on hand, so please RSVP early.

HOW TO FIND US: On the east side of Crissy Field, there is a parking lot for Beach Hut Café (also called Marina Gate & Entry Grove). Park in the parking lot. Look for a brick building with restrooms with picnic tables and BBQ grills, next to the parking lot, and the San Francisco Bay Trail. On Google Maps, this area is labeled as “Windy Devil”, since this is a staging area for windsurfers.

If the forecast for the weekend is poor weather, we will reschedule it on another Saturday. We will contact everyone by email and fees will be refunded to those that cannot attend.

we're planning for 40+ people, already have confirmed RVSPs. Since it's America's Cup, there will already be a large crowd and our picnic space is limited, so drop-ins will be on a first come first served basis.

The park service said that East Beach parking lot will be open for public access. The races will not start until the mid afternoon, so I think this will be a good spot to view the races.

The Race Village on the Marina Green opens starting at 10 a.m. I was over there today and already the Crissy Field parking lot was packed, and today was just race practice. It's going to be like a mini-Fleet week, so all I'm saying is plan accordingly for massive traffic delays and no available parking.

Peter, thanks for pointing this out. According to America's Cup schedule, there will be some trials this week, but the main match is in September. http://www.cupinfo.com/en/acrm-americas-cup-2013-lvc-race-schedule-11054.php

I'll confirm with the park and update with details.

Hey all, not to put a damper on things, but that might not be a good time to hold this event, as the America's Cup World Series events will be taking place of Crissy Field that afternoon, and the whole area is likely to be jam packed. Just wanted to make sure that you'd accounted for that in your planning.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
