Buddhism is a path of practice and spiritual development leading to insight into the true nature of life. Buddhist practices such as meditation are means of changing oneself in order to develop qualities we already possess to some extent - awareness, kindness and wisdom. The Triratna Buddhist Community Leicester is part of an international movement dedicated to communicating timeless truths in ways appropriate to the modern world. There are Triratna Buddhist Centres in many cities in Britain and around the world. In Leicester we are a small group meeting at the Quaker Meeting House on Queens Road to meditate together, learn more about Buddhist teachings and make friends. Led by a member of the Triratna Buddhist Order, our meetings are friendly and informal. We also hold regular introductory courses, occasional day and weekend retreats and celebrate Buddhist festivals. We don't charge for our meetings but appreciate contributions to the cost of room hire. If you'd like to come along and find out more about us we'd love to meet you.
