Native / Modern Tactical Wilderness Survival Skills part 2

**** UPDATE****
Due to the sheer volume of information to be covered, the organizers of this meetup have decided to split the topic into two separate time slots. They will both integrate ancient native skills with modern practical skills and tools. In part 1 we will define the basic components of an essential SURVIVAL KIT that is ultra light and compact while yielding a tremendous advantage to you and your loved ones in a wilderness emergency situation. Those bits of information that can be easily taught and understood indoors will be. In part 2 the balance of information that is best shown and applied outdoors will be. The SURVIVAL KITs will be put to use by the group in hands on demonstrations and exercises. Please note: Part 1 will take place indoors at Liberties ( nice and cozy ),
Part 2 will take place outdoors at Liberty Land ( will be very cold ). 3pm not 7pm!

Here we will pay close attention to the basics needed to make it in an wild habitat on your own.
So many of us are city dwellers that need more information on how to perform simple tasks in a forest, mountain or wetland setting. We will learn from a Native American wilderness survival instructor and modern tactical survivor the following: *Fire starting and tending
*Shelter building
*Water harvesting
*Finding edible plants
*Hunting with spears, traps and snares
*Fishing , frogging and crabbing techniques
*Dressing and skinning animals
*Preparing skins, bones and furs for clothes , shoes and tools
*Signaling , orientation and map reading Some of us were scouts as kids, some have military training and still more are avid hikers and campers.
This meetup will have something for everyone. Todd Dancing Eagle is a very knowledgable, seasoned instructor and has years of practical training and a wide skill set. We are lucky to have such a resource willing to volunteer his valuable time to teach us all what we need to know. ***************************************************************************************

I was unable to attend as RSVP'd, since apparently the event was cross-referenced with another Meetup Group(s), and *that* Group listed the event as starting at 2pm, not 3pm. By the time I found, I would have been late for a 2pm start time, and I don't like to be late, so I bailed.

Is there any way to know for sure when the next one will begin? I would very much like to go. I hope it rocked, for those of you who attended!

Animal trapping and skinning, shelter and fire building were the order of the day. A terrific instructor in Todd Dancing Eagle. Well done.

This demonstrative and hands-on meetup was well planned and executed. It's
great to have knowledgeable, conscientious people organizing a meetup, whatever
the subject. I especially liked the lesson about snares.

VERY interesting, informative and empowering. I can't imagine a better survival training than what we are learning from Fernando and Todd. I look forward to each lesson and have brought in a bunch of new and enthusiastic members who feel the same way I do about our trainings.
