You ask a couple of very interesting and (for some folk) impossible to answer questions. However I'd like to tackle one or two, if I may.
You ask "at what point does a belief become a knowing?"; being one of those eternal questions with which man has forever struggled. Science, with its heavy requirement on exacting proof, evidence down to the finest detail, has apparently further complicated this issue for us nowadays. However it really doesn't need to be so complicated, once we accept with a certain gratitude, the limited scope of our imagination & therefore mentality, and the dynamics within our consciousness that permits us a
Sure some of us seem to do better with conceptual abstraction than others, but at best, none of us do so well whilst locked into the finite test tube that this world is, and especially under the levels of fear generated in order to maintain our subservience to the bureaucracy, which in turn intends to maintain control of the strings, and watch us dance according their entertainment. Of course we aren't supposed to 'know' of these strings that control us, are we? So why do we doubt them, you may ask?
Perhaps the most valuable (by far) essential support that we need in order to advance from personal 'belief' to 'knowing', happens to be that innocent and vulnerable aspect of our consciousness, which has been forced to endure the greatest and most sustained assault society in general can possibly direct towards our overall integrity. I'm
speaking my friend, of TRUST!
I mean, if we are systematically stripped of our innate TRUST by this world of greed, anger, hatred, violence, deception, loss, illusion, fear, denial, in fact all things debilitating; as we surely have been in every imaginable way, then what are we left with to accept as truth? How in fact can we evolve from belief to any knowing whatsoever? The answer is as painful as it is obvious - we simply cannot. We have all but lost any contact with reality (knowing) as a result of a sustained assault and severe deprivation towards trust. So in the process we are astoundingly taught to trust their lies, deceptions.
All this begins before we can even think for ourselves with such deceptions as 'Santa Clause', 'Tooth Fairy', 'grandma looking down on us from up there in heaven',
in fact an entire range of 'nice sounding' pretense and drivel. We graduate to more serious delusion such as 'our footy team is the best', the government is our servants, the news is all about reality, religion has the answers, science is leading the way, and my all-time favorite; making war & killing lots of folk means promoting peace.
So in a world of so great delusion, what happens to that essential 'god particle' within our being? What indeed eventuates in that essential dimension within our consciousness, and therefore the silent power base underpinning our 'knowing'? As a result of the delusion bubble in which we exist in 2012, trust becomes manipulated, violated, crushed - almost beyond repair. We in turn replace trust with suspicion, cynicism, doubt, then amazingly develop a kind of faux trust in it's place.
Under such dynamics, we develop a powerful force which we might term 'anti-trust' in everything imaginable, which is in fact observable in such events as the 9-11 attacks, about which many folk will tend towards violence from the moment anyone mentions the word 'truth'.
So we amazingly tend towards a trust of untruth, and a distrust, yes even hatred of truth.
So now my friend; you may again ask your question; "At what point does belief become a knowing"?
You go on to say; "All concepts and ideas have merit as they exist in this reality as
beliefs.", but I ask; does a belief in 'Santa Clause' have the same level of merit as a belief in 'LIFE'? Indeed, does a belief in 'Santa Clause' have any actual merit at all, other than promoting the incessant and deadly assault upon our most essential innate god-particle; trust?
I applaud your questioning such as 'who am I?', 'who do I trust?', 'what is reality?', and I certainly support you advice to all of us; to question our belief & concepts of reality, yet for mine, until we again develop an attitude of protection towards (our) trust, and then a permit a connection with a genuine, valid TRUST rather than the anti-trust we've relied upon for far too long, we'll only succeed in barking at the moon, and the moon 'just don't care'.
Peace and patience to you,

Pam, it's great to see an open mind in this discussion.
To simply write off religion because it doesn't fit a world view is
the same kind of closed mind thinking that got the world into the
state it's in. Who's to say one persons truth is fiction or simply
belief? At which point does a belief become a knowing?
For centuries we believed the 'powers that were' and the version of
history they taught in school. It took 9/11 to shake us out of our
collective dream and started many on the quest for truth and the
road to enlightenment.
We, on this list, believed that something was terribly wrong with
the world. Was that a belief to be dismissed and shut down?
Only a few short years ago the readers of this list were branded as
conspiracy theorists as we can't offer concrete tangible proof of
our beliefs to those who can't see past their conditioning. The
sceptics don't believe us and dismiss our beliefs out of hand. Are
the sceptics right in shutting down what we are trying to say? In
the end our views are just beliefs.
All concepts and ideas have merit as they exist in this reality as
The truth movement started, for me, some 20 years ago as a quest to
unravel the history of us. It meandered through 9/11 and all that
followed. It branched to pre-history, myth, legend and a study of
religion, the occult, science, physics and more. It has been an
interesting journey to say the least. It has introduced many
concepts and ideas that on the surface appear unbelievable. Some
might say insane. Aliens, gods, magic, spells, demons, mind control,
corruption, banking, war and so much more.
In the end the journey led me to a few simple questions. Who am I?
What do I believe? What do I know? What is my knowledge,
understanding or belief based on? All the searching for truth
outside of myself inevitably led me back to those questions.
To those who shut down any idea, belief or concept I ask you to
question yourself. Question your own beliefs and knowing. Where did
they come from? Are they based on first hand experience or from what
you've been led to under-stand?
In other words: First know thyself.
Keep an open mind and love all that is - the dark and the light -
embrace it all.
Love to all.
