  • Tucson Atheists

Pleasant people. obviously folks who've worried, thought and read more about this than I. I just decided that the old stories didn't work/make sense to me. So while I haven't read Hitchens, nor any of the others mentioned, I have appreciated Maher, Hitchens and others in their TV appearances. I think the trick is to be comfortable as an atheist without making it yet another religion. As a first-timer, I think this is a solid group of serious, thoughtful people, who don't seem to take themselves too seriously. Thanks for making me feel welcome. I will encourage the others who came with me to sigh up formally to participate in this review.

    Buck V. on Jun 29, 2010.

  • Tucson Atheists

To enjoy an environment that is comfortable and welcoming of those who want the freedom to think independently from the current stifling religious majority. There are thankfully some brainy and assertive debaters within this group, who raise the bar, and argue articulately against faulty premises and logic. But many come just to feel at ease with themselves and others. It is very refreshing.

    Mikey on Jun 6, 2010.

They should join if they have experienced profound loss in their life and are in the grieving process. The people in the group are not religious. If you are looking for a "safe" place to express your grief and help others with theirs, without the use of deities, you should consider this group.
