In honor of Hallowe'en, the October movie will be The Exorcist (1973) - what else?! I don't think it needs a blurb, other than to say that it stars Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow and of course Linda Blair, along with copious amounts of green pea soup. Directed by William Friedkin, whose most recent movie was 2011's Killer Joe (which I recommend but is not an easy watch). His career seems to have been unremarkable otherwise; at least, I don't recognize any of his other movies.
After the movie, we'll head over to the Epic Cafe (745 N 4th St, at University) to talk about the movie and anything else we feel like.
The Sahara Apartments are on Stone a block and a half south of Speedway, on the west side. There is plenty of parking right there. Note that the theater is through a locked security gate. Someone from our group will be waiting inside the gate to buzz everyone in, but you must be there by 6:30 as that's when the movie will start. I recommend that you arrive a few minutes early!
