For once I'm undecided on the movie, so I'll bring both candidates and we can decide on the night - democracy in action! We will watch one of the following:
Blasphemy (2001), starring no-one you've heard of, written & directed by the equally unknown (to me at least) John Mendoza. From IMDB: "Martin Garcia announces to his parents that not only is he proud to have converted to Atheism, but he intends to tell his whole family on Christmas. His parents then disown him on the spot, and they turn to his Aunt Patrica, who turns the rest of his family against him, and she's determined to either bring him back to the fold or kill him trying". The film also features running commentary from various gods and prophets, including Abraham, Jesus, Zeus, Buddha etc. [but apparently not the Gran Queso Himself - patrick]
Friends Of God (2007). Hit the road with Alexandra Pelosi as she embarks on a cross-country journey of evangelical America. This one's only an hour so plenty of time for coffee & discussion afterwards.
After the movie, we'll head over to the Epic Cafe (745 N 4th St, at University) to talk about the movie and anything else we feel like.
The Sahara Apartments are on Stone a block and a half south of Speedway, on the west side. There is plenty of parking right there. Note that the theater is through a locked security gate. Someone from our group will be waiting inside the gate to buzz everyone in, but you must be there by 6:30 as that's when the movie will start. I recommend that you arrive a few minutes early!
