Tucson Atheists Monthly Movie Night

This is the generic description for Tucson Atheists Monthly Movie Night. On the fourth Monday of each month (one week after the group's monthly meeting), the Sahara Apartments host the Tucson Atheists in their small movie theater. I (Patrick) will update this event with the movie title a week or so before the movie night.

After the movie, we usually have a discussion in the theater and maybe head over to the Epic Cafe (745 N 4th St, at University) to talk about the movie and anything else we feel like.

The Sahara Apartments are on Stone a block and a half south of Speedway, on the west side. There is plenty of parking right there (ignore the warning signs). Note that the theater is through a locked security gate. Someone from our group will be waiting inside the gate to buzz everyone in, but you must be there by 6:30 as that's when the movie will start. I recommend that you arrive a few minutes early!

What a great movie to point out the ridiculousness of the book of Revelation. Pure mind candy. Enjoyed the experience.

    Hi all,

I'll be filling in for Patrick for this one. We'll be watching "Rapture-Palooza", a 2013 comedy-fantasy starring Anna Kendrick and Craig Robinson. Like all apocalyptic comedies, the humor is a little crude.

    Here's a synopsis from Amazon.com:

"When the Apocalypse actually happens and a billion people are raptured up to heaven, Lindsey (Kendrick) and her boyfriend Ben (John Francis Daley) are left behind in suburban Seattle. The young couple try their best to lead a normal life surrounded by talking locusts, blood rain showers, and pot-smoking wraiths. But when the Anti-Christ (Robinson) makes his home base in their neighborhood, Lindsey finds herself the object of his affection. With the help of her family, friends, and a lawn-mowing zombie neighbor, the young couple set off to stop the Anti-Christ from taking her as his bride... and just maybe, saving the world in the process."

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
