How long have you been an atheist?

I've been an atheist since 2001. I was raised in a Fundamentalist, holy roller church. I wanted to be a preacher, so I studied the Bible and read most of the books at least once. By 16, I'd decided it was a bunch of crap. I studied and tried other religions, but found them all lacking and man made. I was Deist for awhile and spent a lot of time deprogramming the brainwashing of my religion . Due to the religious furor and some personal conversations after 9/11, I decided that it was more logical that God did not exist in any form. So far, nothing I have read, seen, or heard has changed my mind. In fact, the more I learn, the more I think organized religion delusional.

I have a great family. I love listening to music. I play guitar, make weird vocal noises, and write music. I read a lot of non-fiction. I think Secular Humanism is a good explanation of my world view. I'm looking forward to meetings.
