Hi. My name is Jerry Rosen, and its been 5 1/2 years since I left a full time local advertising and marketing career. I've had the greatest part time job- I am a hiking and biking guide at Canyon Ranch Resort. Love nature photography!
Intermediate to advanced
Nikon D300, Nikon D7100 and Olympus Tough
Elements 11. Also, some of the Nik software- HDR Efex, Dfine,Silver Efex
Sabino Canyon-Blacketts Ridge trail, Phoneline trail. Lower Bear Canyon(next to Sabino Canyon) 7 Falls. Mt. Lemon has many wonderful trails that have incredible photo opportunities. Just to mention a few: Aspen Ridge(starts next to the bottom of the ski runs, right across from the Iron Door Restaurant), The Marshall Gultch area(at the end of the main road at Summerhaven)
I take my dog Jake on the Aspen trail.Jake loves the hike.
Hi Jerry, I am new to this group however I do not have a car suitable for my two dogs. Do you know anyone who may have room for us on any trail adventure, short or long? I see your dogs are large but just had to ask cause I love labs.
Sounds great, Jerry. Looking forward to it as well.
I went up to check out the Aspen trail today and unfortunately the sign at the trail head does say no dogs in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness (which the Aspen Trail/Marshall Gulch loop are in). I did see several dogs on the trail so this does not appear to be followed but since it is posted I am not comfortable organizing a Meetup hike there. I am going to do a Lemmon Hike though, the Sunset Trail and plan on going on the first bit of the Aspen trail before it crosses into the Pusch Ridge Wilderness.
Sounds good, will definitely plan on schedule a hike here, I've been wanting to check it out.
Thanks for the info. Do you know if there are any "no dogs" signs on the Aspen trail? I know many of those trails go into the Pusch Ridge Wilderness which unfortunately does not allow dogs (due to the Big Horn Sheep that don't live there any more...don't get me started...).
Welcome Jerry - I recognize you from Le Buzz. Would you like to be a ride organizer? It would be a great help and I welcome your participation. See you on the road.
