Edit #2 - just to put the hazards up front so everyone sees them... Cows & sand. ;-)
So, Dawn and I were plotting together today, and we realized that the Arivaca run hasn't been done in awhile. On top of that, I have never done this ride (although I've wanted to!!). So, c'mon out and help me bust my Arivaca cherry. Dawn rogered up to lead the ride, and I've heard nothing but awesome about the twisties! Looking to go KSU at 1030.
Map of the route:
Amado is about 40miles south of Tucson. We will ride in formation from the meeting point to Amado.
From Amado to Arivaca is about 23 miles of fun twisty road. There is little traffic on this road. You do have to watch for sand if there has been any rain recently.
This ride is loved by most of us due to the curvy fun and how little traffic there is.
Edit - for those that aren't getting enough twisties from the Arivaca run itself, Zach has volunteered to take folks back to Tucson via Patagonia/Sonoita/83. That's a great ride, and if you're looking for more road time, I'd highly endorse this! Thanks, Zach!
