“ Don't hesitate to join. Even if you're new to Meetup and still figuring out the added benefits of the local aspect of Meetup itself. There isn't an overwhelming amount on the Calendar; as I have experienced with some groups. This month was the first I remember there being 3 events in the same months, and even those were a broad spectrum of activities. However, at the same time, rarely long goes by that there isn't a potluck or event happening. I am still working through what I want to do for my financial well-being, so in the past I really could not afford some of the more costly events some groups have. This Meetup has never been a problem in that regard; and those that run it have done so well at keeping it affordable somehow, even the classes and how-to events offer generous flexibility. The variety of people you meet and the personal wellness gained makes this one not to be missed. ”

“ Mylo and I noticed as we ate, that we were feeling really happy, almost high, perhaps a result of the beautiful raw food. It felt like coming home. Eating raw can feel alienating and having others to share it with feels very nurturing and assuring that we are goiing the right direction. I wrote down several of the others' recipes especially the chocolate mousse: all ingredients raw and organic: soaked cashews, cacao beans, unfiltered Hawaiian honey, vanilla bean seeds, cold pressed coconut oil. Wow, that stuff was like rocket fuel. Someone had a spaghetti-shredder and the raw spaghetti was fun and satisfying. Several juices and smoothies. Several salads, a mango-salsa, a probiotic dry cole-slaw, and chard wraps. We left stuffed and difficult to leave after two hours because conversation was really quality. ”

“ I am new to this group and there were lots of good ideas and good information for me to learn and implement more raw foods into my diet. ”
— Connie on Mar 17, 2008.
“ For the first time, since I started my raw food diet, I felt like I had support from like minded people. I don't talk about my diet choice much with my friends because it gets boring to them since they are not into it. I get most of my information from books and the internet. Meeting with like minded people in my own community is very comforting. It allows us to address the questions we have that we don't know who to ask. We can turn to people who are going through the same issues, like cravings or problems sprouting, or Vit-B12 supplements, protein concerns for athletes and food combining. Everyone there tonight had something to share, and all of my questions were addressed by many different people. It seemed that each of us had our own speciality! It was wonderful to meet everyone and I look forward to sharing my knowledge while learning from everyone else! And the food was delicious! Thanks to everyone who attended, I'm grateful that we could share this part of our lives! ”
