Hi everyone! This Tuesday let's watch NEBRASKA, the latest movie by Alexander Payne (Sideways), about a crusty old man and his son's road trip across the American West in search of a mythical million dollars. The movie is running 91% on rottentomatoes.com, who write that "Elegant in its simplicity and poetic in its message, Nebraska adds another stirringly resonant chapter to Alexander Payne's remarkable filmography." Reviewers variously describe it as "a wonderful comedy" and "sad" and "very funny" and "pure" and "melancholy" and "sincere" and "the work of a great director hitting his stride". I think the movie (which is in black-and-white) will be bleak in parts, but ultimately insightful and uplifting and beautiful in its own way. At the very least, I think it will be interesting and give us lots to talk about. So, please come see it with us!
