Hill Walks and Speed Walking Intervals

We will be focusing on Exertion and Recovery Cycles. Exertion and Recovery Cycles are essential for high performance and balanced living. And a great way to build muscle and shed unwanted fat! In this session we will be doing the following:

warm up: 1 lap around the park walking

Hill walks: 5 times up and down the hill at your fastest pace (which may range anywhere from walking to running, please listen to your body to avoid injuries) UPDATE: The first and last Hill Walk of the workout will be 10 times instead of 5 :-)

Strength Training: Arm circles in between Hill walks and Intervals UPDATE: Bring hand weights to give your arms an extra workout :-) 

Interval: 1 lap around the park speed walking 30 seconds then walking 30 seconds

(We will be doing Exertion & Recovery cycles and Strength training for the remainder of the session)

Cool down: 2 minute cool down and stretch

Please Bring the Following:

• comfortable clothing to workout in 

• comfortable workout shoes with good support 

• water (there are drinking fountains at the park, but its better to have it handy - you can leave it in your car) 

• towel (may need it after the workout, you can leave it in your car) 

• Flashlight (in the winter months for better visability)

Park Lights should turn on between 5:45pm - 6:00pm and will stay on for the remainder of the workout.

If you arrive a bit late just look for us, we will be walking around the track or going up and down a hill :-)

    Great workout as of 12/28/13, biking Sonora to k st the Santa fe trail to laspina to cypress park over the over pass to Blackstone to milk n home. FYI, don't forget gloves next time. LoL :)
