December 2013 Theme of The Month

  • Dec 31, 2013 · 11:00 PM

Give us your best shot from 2013. Wild card: must be taken during 2013.

This is a virtual meet-up.

Contest Overview:
In an effort to encourage our members to grow and challenge their skills, PHOTOG hosts a monthly themed ‘double-blind’ photo contest whereby both the photo submissions and the voting remain completely anonymous. There are two (2) contest categories available, Novice and Advanced.
Novice – for the beginners, still learning their cameras and techniques
Advanced – for the old hands, still learning, yet have honed their skills
Novices that win or place three times are automatically promoted to Advanced. Once submitting in the Advanced category, all subsequent entries will remain in the Advanced category.

The Theme of the Month:
The selected Theme of the Month is posted on the 1st day of the month along with a ‘Wild Card’, specific parameters regarding the current month’s theme. Example, the month’s Wild Card may require: 'only black & white, no HDR, no archived photos, and so on. Photographers are encouraged to submit a photo that not only best represents the theme, but also is technically sound, presented in an artistic way, and worthy of framing for wall art.

This month, voting will be open around the 2rd of the January through the 21st at
On Sept. 27, 2013, voting rules changed where we now vote on each image, in both categories, using the five star system, 5 being the highest score and 1 being the lowest.

Hi, I noticed that January's results were just posted. Do you know when the results of December's voting will be posted or did I miss it?

The above post lost its formatting with the copy and paste. I'm sorry that's difficult to read, but congrats to the winners! You guys rock!

I think I got confused with the "best picture ever" instead of just for 2013

Just sent. I'm not sure I have one "best" rather than a ton of favorites. Jeanne I do not recall getting any recent ( in the last month or so about TOTM). I did see winners announced but nothing about voting.

I can't get on to vote or look at Novembers TOTM pics. I know its too late to vote now but I never could get on. Is there a new password?

    December 21, 2013

    • Jeanne C.

It's not too late to vote. Yes, the password changes monthly. Check your Facebook email for the password, as I sent it to you through there just now. Email addresses must be current within Meetup and account must be active within the last 12 months to receive the password. Also, set up your Inbox to allow email from Meetup so it doesn't fall in your Junk email. Let me know if all of that is in place and you're still not receiving the emails around the first of the month.

Man this is a hard challenge. I'm putting out my "Best" is telling everyone, this is as good as I get. :) Fun time going thru my 2013 pics to fine something I won't be too embarrassed to call my "best". I'm sure everyone else is having pains picking out their entries. Good luck all.
