Are you wanting to learn how to edit all those bracketed images you took for HDR processing but don’t know where to start? Well, what better way to spend a cold winter afternoon this January than in a cozy room at Marley’s Pizzeria with a few of your PHOTOG friends learning how. At this Meetup, Mike and I will share our approaches with you so you can start the ball rolling. We will review shooting basics, discuss software options, and demonstrate our processing techniques. So if you are an HDR beginner, this Meetup may just be your ticket to a new photographic journey. If you already know what you’re doing, then probably not. Please note that attendance is limited to 25 members.

when is this scheduled for now

    January 20, 2013

Feb 17th. You were automatically signed up to the new date since you were on the previous attendee list. No need to do anything unless you have to cancel.

Please accept my apology for not verifying our reservation with the restaurant. Although the reservation was made in November, it apparently never made it onto their 2013 calendar and another party had the room when I arrived. Needless to say, I did not enjoy sharing the bad news. I appreciate your interest in the class; it will be rescheduled.

Well I am sorry the class was cancelled! I was right down the road to come to it when I got a email saying it was cancelled bummer!

What about someone be in charge of doing a "call the waiting list day of meet" type thing...get phone#'s or something and when they see how many seats are open they call down the waiting list to see if the next person wants ou to come?

    January 12, 2013

  • Michael

No no there is a list. Look up the link for the meet up and click join. However it is full and you will be put on the waiting list. Dont just show up because in the long run that will bring issues I believe

I read where Bill Plese posted, "I also realize that from past events there is only 50-75% that actually show up that have RSVP'd." Can I go ahead and show up and then stay if there available spots open?

    January 12, 2013

    • Crystal

      January 12, 2013

Can I do this with Lightroom or do I have to know Photoshop?

    January 11, 2013

    • Scott S.

No Photoshop. Hurray! Mike and I both use Lightroom but additional software is required which we will cover at the Meetup.

      January 11, 2013

  • Sherry F.

do we need to take our own pictures or will they be provided?

    January 10, 2013

    • Scott S.

Nope, Mike and I will be using our own images for the demonstrations. If you're planning to bring a laptop, I suppose you could try following along with your own images, may be hard to do, but bringing a laptop or images is not required.

I will not be able to attend the HDR meetup this weekend and I know there is a wait list. Please assign my spot to someone on this list. Hope this is offered again.

    December 28, 2012

    • Angel S.

oh wow!! that sounds awesome!!Thank you for filling me in!! Any suggestions of where or how to get started in doing something like this? Like maybe a group that takes the pics as to get some basic ideas under the belt?

      December 29, 2012

    • Scott S.

We have had several meetups centered on or around HDR. I'm sure there will be more. Have you Googled it? Lots of info on the web. Trey Ratcliff has a free tutorial on his website.

      December 30, 2012

  • Teresa B.

Any possibility that we will get to attend if we are on the waiting list?

    December 28, 2012

    • Angel S.

could we come and watch to see what exactly it is that you are talking about and see finished results? not really a part of the class but just to watch?

      December 29, 2012

    • Scott S.

I love your enthusiasm but that would make you an attendee :) We want this meetup to be more like a class than a lecture so we are intentionally limiting its size. We will do it again.

I see this event has filled up quite quick! While I am not an expert in HDR I decided to RSVP to see if I can pick up anything new but I will defer my reservation closer to the event date if there is someone totally new to HDR that would like to go. I also realize that from past events there is only 50-75% that actually show up that have RSVP'd so don't give up! I have found some FREE software that has some HDR presets in it that you might like to play with before the meeting. I have been evaluating this software for a few weeks and I am ready to buy the full suite. I have been using Perfect Effects 4 Free. There is also some other free software on their site. Check it out if you are interested. http://www.ononesoftware.com/free/

No, you do not need to bring a laptop. Some people may not have a laptop and we didn't want to exclude them. The room has a large wall mounted flat screen monitor which we will use to demonstrate our processing workflows.

Do I need to bring a laptop?
